French Pattern I.M.A Sternal Retractor Sternum Blade 20 x 100 mm, 1 Claw Blade 28 x 15 mm and 1 Claw Blade 32 x 15 mm with Spread of 150 mm After a mid-sternotomy, the thorax is typically retracted at the midline using a specialized surgical tool called a sternal retractor. This makes it possible for the surgeon to better manipulate the interior organs. It is particularly utilized while collecting internal mammary arteries for grafts.

French Pattern For the optimum surgical access, a sternal retractor has three different types of blades. after a mid-sternotomy, stabilizes and retracts the thorax to provide for easier surgical access to internal organs. contains a large sternum blade in particular on one side to apply the most stress to the sternum. Two claw blades on the opposite side have different lengths so they can be adjusted as necessary. Each lateral blade is shaped differently to fulfill a certain function. To avoid damaging delicate tissue, the retracting forceps feature smooth edges on the outside. Additionally, the instrument is lightweight and features an ergonomic shape for easy handling. To reduce operator fatigue, it also includes a screw lock for each blade. The French Pattern I.M.A Sternal Retractor comes with sternal blade of 20 by 100 mm for secure grip.
