It consists of two parts a guide cannula and a stylet that fits snuggly within the guide. This cannula can be used in deliver a compound to a very specific, predetermined site in the brain. The stylet can be removed during administration and recapped to prevent anything from being delivered at other times. Often includes a Luer Lock connection for secure attachment to syringes and may be graduated in centimeters for depth precision.
