Thornton Iol Forceps angled 45 degrees, smooth flat cross-action handle, 11.0 mm jaws, 3-1/2″ (9.0 cm) A special instrument used in artificial lens insertion procedures is the Thornton IOL Folding Forceps. To make implantation easier, the forceps are made to fold the IOL either horizontally or longitudinally. The forceps’ rounded, gentle shape helps them grasp the IOL with little change or damage. Additionally, the handle has finger holes that enable the surgeon to modify grip and traction while doing the treatment.
